That meant finding free tools that actually work — not watered-down trials that lock the good stuff behind a paywall.
After months of testing, I’ve narrowed it down to the tools I use every single day to run this blog. All of them are free. All of them are genuinely useful.

1. Claude AI — Your Content Writing Engine
Claude is the AI I use to write every article on this blog. I give it a topic, a target keyword, and a word count — and it returns a full draft in under two minutes.
What makes Claude stand out is the quality of the writing. It sounds natural, stays on topic, and rarely needs heavy editing. For a passive income blog where you need consistent output, that’s everything.
The free tier gives you enough access to write several articles a week. If you’re serious about scaling, the paid plan is worth every cent — but you can absolutely get started without spending anything.
2. Coze — Your Automation Backbone
Once you have Claude writing your content, the next step is automating the workflow around it. That’s where Coze comes in.
Coze is a free AI workflow builder that lets you chain together tasks — generate an outline, write a draft, format the output — all triggered by a single click. I covered the full setup in my previous post on Coze workflow tutorial, so check that out if you haven’t already.
The free plan is generous. You get access to multiple AI models, unlimited workflow runs, and no credit card required.
3. WordPress — Your Publishing Platform
WordPress powers over 40% of the internet for a reason. It’s free, flexible, and has thousands of plugins that extend what your blog can do.
I use WordPress with the free Astra theme, which loads fast and looks clean without any customization. Combined with a budget hosting plan, you can have a professional-looking blog live for under $5 a month.
The software itself is completely free at wordpress.org. You only pay for hosting and your domain name.
4. RankMath SEO — Your Free SEO Optimizer
RankMath is the SEO plugin I use on every post. It tells me in real time whether my article is optimized — checking things like keyword placement, meta description length, and readability.
The free version gives you everything you need as a beginner. I’ve been hitting 60+ SEO scores consistently using only the free tier, which is more than enough to get Google’s attention.
Install it from the WordPress plugin directory and set it up in about ten minutes.
5. Google Search Console — Your Traffic Monitor
Google Search Console is free and it’s essential. It shows you which keywords are bringing people to your site, how many clicks you’re getting, and whether Google has indexed your pages.
I set this up after publishing my first few posts. Within a week, I could see Google had already started crawling AISideFlow.
To get started, verify your site ownership and submit your sitemap. If you’re using RankMath, it generates your sitemap automatically at yourdomain.com/sitemap_index.xml.
6. Google Analytics — Your Audience Tracker
While Search Console shows you search performance, Google Analytics shows you what happens after someone lands on your site — how long they stay, which pages they visit, and where they came from.
This data becomes valuable once you start getting consistent traffic. You’ll know which articles are resonating and which ones need work.
Both Google Search Console and Google Analytics are completely free. Set them both up on day one.
7. Canva — Your Graphics Creator
Every blog needs at least a featured image for each post. Canva makes this easy even if you have zero design skills.
The free plan includes hundreds of blog banner templates sized perfectly for WordPress. I spend about five minutes per post creating a simple, clean featured image that matches the article topic.
It’s not glamorous work, but having a featured image improves click-through rates and makes your blog look more professional to AdSense reviewers.

One of the biggest mistakes new bloggers make is buying tools before they’ve proven their concept. Start free, stay free until your blog is generating income, then reinvest strategically.
